This Privacy Policy explains how SF Combined Listings Swatch ("SF Combined Listings", "the app", "we", "us") collects, uses and discloses information when you install and use our Shopify app.
If you have any question about this policy, contact us at [email protected]
Store information. When you install the app, Shopify grants us access to information about your store. We receive and store your store domain, the email address, store owner name and phone number on your Shopify account, your store's Shopify plan, and basic store settings such as country, currency, timezone and locale. We use this to identify your store, run the app and contact you about the service.
Product information. To let you link products into groups, we read your products, product options, variants, product media, vendors, product types, tags, collections and product metafields through the Shopify Admin API. For each group you create we store the product identifiers and handles of its members, the option name and the value each member is shown as, and the swatch you chose for it. We also store a small snapshot of each member's price, compare-at price and available stock, refreshed about once a day, so the storefront can show sale badges and low-stock lines. We do not copy or host your image files; they stay in your Shopify account and are served by Shopify's CDN.
Split product records. If you use Split products, we store the source product, the option you split by, the values involved, and the identifiers of the products the split created — so the job can be resumed, retried and reported on.
App settings. We store the configuration you create inside the app: your groups, swatch definitions, swatch styling, storefront settings and any custom CSS or JavaScript you enter.
Theme information. We read your themes to tell you whether the app embed is enabled, and your storefront reports back which theme it is running on and which theme elements the app expected to find and did not. We store the theme name, theme identifier, page type and that list of missing elements, so support can diagnose a theme that renders swatches in the wrong place.
Translations. Where you translate an option name or a swatch label, we read your store's locales and translations so the storefront shows the right language.
Technical information. Our hosting provider processes standard request metadata, including IP addresses and request timestamps, for security, abuse prevention and error diagnosis. This is ordinary server logging and is not used to profile individuals.
Performance samples from the app's own admin pages. While you use the app inside your Shopify admin, your browser may send us anonymous page-performance samples (load and responsiveness timings, the page address inside the app, your browser's user-agent string and your store domain). They tell us which of our own pages are slow. They are not storefront data and describe no shopper.
The app writes as well as reads, and you should know exactly what:
Metaobjects and metafields in your own store hold a copy of your groups and swatch settings, so your storefront can render them quickly. That copy belongs to you and stays under your control in Shopify.
New products, only when you run a Split products job and confirm it. The app creates one product per value, publishes it to your Online Store, copies the images and — if you asked it to — the inventory quantities, and archives the original product only after every new product succeeded. Nothing is created until you press the confirm button; archived products can be restored in Shopify.
We never delete your products, and we never change a product you did not put through a split.
We want to be explicit about this, because many Shopify apps do collect the following and we do not:
We do not access, store or process your customers' personal information — no names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers or account details.
We do not access your orders, carts, checkouts or payment information.
We do not set cookies on your storefront, and we do not use browser fingerprinting or any cross-site tracking.
We do not create identifiers for individual storefront visitors, and we do not track them across sessions, pages or websites.
We do not sell, rent or trade any information to third parties.
When a shopper views a page on a store that uses the app, their browser asks our servers for that store's display configuration through Shopify's app proxy. That request returns your settings — it sends us nothing about the shopper.
The app uses the browser's session storage on your storefront to cache that configuration and to avoid reporting the same diagnostic twice in one visit. Session storage is cleared when the shopper closes the tab, holds no identifier for them, and is never sent anywhere except back to the same page.
The app may report anonymous interaction events containing only the event type, the product identifier and the option value involved (for example, "swatch clicked, product 12345, Coral"). These are written to our application logs for diagnostics, contain no visitor identifier of any kind, are not stored in a database, are not linked to any individual, and are not used for advertising.
Your storefront also sends the theme report described in Section 1. It describes your theme, never a shopper.
We use the information described above to:
provide, operate and maintain the app;
respond to your support requests;
diagnose errors, prevent abuse and keep the service secure;
notify you about material changes to the app, new features or this policy.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it. We may email the contact address on your store about the service and, occasionally, about the app itself; every such message carries a way to opt out, and you can also opt out by emailing [email protected].
We rely on a small number of processors to run the service:
Shopify Inc. — hosts your store data and provides the APIs the app depends on.
Gadget (Gadget Software Inc.) — hosts the app's backend, database and logs.
Gleap GmbH — runs our in-app live chat and help center. Gleap receives your store contact details (store owner name, email address, phone number where present, store domain, plan, country, currency and timezone) so support can recognise you in a conversation, and holds whatever you write to us in chat.
These providers process information solely on our instructions and for the purposes described above.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections and access controls, and we limit access to what is required to operate and support the app. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your store information and app configuration for as long as the app is installed on your store.
When you uninstall the app, we stop processing your data. When Shopify sends us the shop/redact request that follows an uninstall, we delete the store information and app configuration we hold for your store — your groups, swatch definitions, theme reports, split records and settings.
Two things deliberately survive that deletion:
Whatever the app created or copied inside your own Shopify store — the metaobjects and metafields, and any products a split created. They are your data and remain in your store. You can delete them yourself at any time.
Your support contact record at Gleap, so that a conversation history is still there if you write to us or come back later. Email [email protected] to have it erased.
Server logs, which may contain IP addresses and the anonymous events described in Section 4, are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes and are then discarded.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. Note that deleting your configuration removes your product groups and swatch settings, and your storefront will stop showing the swatch rows.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because we do not process your customers' personal information, requests relating to your shoppers should be directed to Shopify.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
We support Shopify's mandatory data privacy requests — customers/data_request, customers/redact and shop/redact. As we hold no customer data, customer-related requests are answered by confirming that no such data exists on our systems.
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
The app is a business tool intended for merchants. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Our app and help center may link to third-party websites, including Shopify documentation and video tutorials. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app or to legal requirements. When we make a material change we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app.
